Job description


WARNING: This is not the right position for someone who is looking to join a group with rigid boundaries, inflexible processes, and minimal organization visibility.   We are looking for a " change agent" to join our UX team to help guide our product development teams to value and join the mission be an organization advocate for User Centered Design (UCD).   This will require challenging the status quo, continued learning, and a relentless pursuit to know our customers better.   If this challenge does not make you excited, we appreciate your consideration but would not recommend applying for this position.  


The user-experience/user-interface (UX/UI) designer will be responsible for understanding business requirements and any technical limitations, as well as conducting user research, interviews and surveys. Translating them into personas, customer journey maps, sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes and interface/product designs. To ensure a great user experience, they will iterate upon them in accordance with user-testing and by working with other UX designers.


Required Skills
  • Work using a user-centered design approach through rapid tests and design iterations
  • Experience working in a Lean UX environment
  • Expertise in UX software: Sketch, InVision, Adobe Create Cloud, etc.
  • HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript knowledge; Angular, Bootstrap and SASS a big plus
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of responsive design and mobile-first
  • Demonstrated ability in taking complex business rules and applications and develop highly simplified user experiences and user interface designs
  • Ability to solve problems while considering timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality in addressing product needs
  • Ability to perform user research and analysis
  • Ability to perform workflow research and analysis and define current and future state user journeys
  • Ability to analyze and define navigation flows and data layouts
  • Ability to define user mindset and persona specifications
  • Ability to develop and facilitate usability studies
  • Possess a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and inter-team skills with the ability to listen and consider input from team members


  • Consulting with product owners to understand their goals and explaining research results
  • Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to interface designs and intuitive user experiences
  • Develop wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps, screen flows and mockups optimized for mobile and other system platforms
  • Creating product prototypes and interface designs
  • Developing personas and journey maps
  • Perform user research and analysis
  • Analyzing user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience
  • Perform usability testing to empirically evaluate efficacy of specific designs
  • Employ techniques such as A/B testing and multivariate testing
  • Participate in product discussions with the product owner, users, the UX team and the development team to understand and refine acceptance criteria and estimate user stories
  • Work in an agile environment, delivering incremental product functionality in short iterations


  • 5+ years of UX/UI design experience
  • Experience with lean UX research, product design and development
  • Experience working with users, product owners, design and development teams
  • Experience with developing product design specifications
  • Passion for managing and exceeding customer expectations
  • Experience with Design System development (nice to have)
