You can size up an experience in a heartbeat and within seconds point out usability defects that, if corrected with your impeccable recommendations, would improve the experience tenfold. You thrive on taking complex experience design challenges and turning them into extremely simple and useful works of art that you would hang on your wall, if you could. You start your day thinking about your user’ s motivations, behaviors and habits and how the experiences you create will not only engage them, but make their lives that much more enjoyable to live. The Brass Tacks (aka Your Responsibilities):
  • Create the Omni-channel UX design deliverables for designated projects, work streams and across all touch points (mobile, tablet, responsive web, in-store, etc) ensuring the delivered experiences result in an extremely simple, intuitive, engaging, utility driven Omni-channel user experience that exceeds our customers’ expectations.
  • Conceptualize and create the storyboards, information architecture, user interface, interaction design and motion design across all digital touch
  • Have the ability to conduct and document heuristic evaluations, competitive evaluations, user research recommendations, customer journeys, user scenarios, wireframes, interactive prototypes, business process flows, and detailed user interface specifications
  • Act and be recognized as a UX thought leader and a key member of cross discipline team including other UX designers, product managers, developers, business analysts, CX designers, project managers and project stakeholders
  • Proactively participate in the user-centered design process across multiple initiatives ensuring UX activities and deliverables are being created according to plan and with the right level of quality
  • Participate in UX workshops with executives and other business stakeholders to understand and develop project goals, success metrics, requirements and their respective prioritization to develop Minimum Viable Product (MVP) based iterations
  • Support UX leads with UX activity and deliverable recommendations, estimates and timelines
  • Use your UX knowledge and creativity (and our access to users through social, digital, in-stores, etc) to determine the right user research activities based on project needs/requirements
  • Support the execution and analysis of user research activities ensuring the results successfully evolve the experience design and are clearly communicated to project stakeholders and executives
  • Ensure all experience design decisions take into consideration our key user types, their respective needs, context of use and current design patterns
  • Ability to clearly articulate your experience design deliverables and decision making process to other team members, business partners and executives
  • Constantly scan the UX horizon for innovative experiences that continue to push the envelope and blur the lines between in-store and digital shopping experiences
  • Work directly with product and project managers to effectively communicate project issues and risks while ensuring the user experience integrity is held through project delivery

The Must Haves (aka Required Experience / Skills)
  • A minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a user experience designer, information architect, interaction designer or similar role
  • A minimum of 3+ years creating touch optimized experiences
  • Knowledge and experience with user research activities and techniques
  • Knowledge and experience with touch specific experiences
  • Demonstrated experience designing with a mobile first approach on a responsive web platform
  • Experience in transforming user research into actionable user experience enhancements
  • Demonstrated skills in all UX based design deliverables including information architecture, interaction design, user types, customer journeys, user scenarios, wireframes, prototypes, business process flows, detailed user interface specifications, motion design
  • Demonstrated knowledge of user-centered design principles, best practices, methodologies and approaches across all digital experiences including mobile, tablet and desktop
  • Strong communication, organization, and team interaction skills
  • Advanced skills with design and prototyping tools such as Axure, InDesign, Visio, InVision, Flinto, Keynote and Omnigraffle
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating user centered design solutions
  • Knowledge of presentation technologies and associated accessibility standards (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Native, etc)

Nice to Have (aka Bonus Points)
  • Master’ s Degree in Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Human-Computer Interaction or a related design or behavioral science discipline
  • Experience in Omni-channel eCommerce
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of areas such as personalization, game dynamics, behavioral economics, brand strategy, data visualization, storytelling and narrative as they relate to UX
