Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for Linux administration within the on premise and Cloud environment.   This resource will be required to maintain SLA' s resolving tickets and issues along with implementation of new process and procedures and automation.  This individual will be a team player that will be able to work with multiple technical skillsets merging ideas into reality.  The resource must be proficient in Linux and also a programming/scripting language.  Cloud experience that includes implementations, migrations, and vast use of cloud tools is a must.  This resource will be required to drive ideas showing significant progress in a timely manner. 
  • Develop and document new processes and procedures for systems teams
  • Effectively communicate, drive and socialize solutions in our global community
  • Create and edit runbooks where needed enabling for both on premise where needed and the cloud
  • Must be able to work with auditors to automate data gathering for audit from a current manual process.
  • Review processes and verify that best practices are being followed throughout projects and operational tasks
  • Enable datacenter for cloud
  • Work with migration teams (Cloud team/vendors) as a liaison to fully evaluate ensure continuity throughout cloud transitions
  • Work closely with the application teams for tuning and enabling their application for the cloud
  • Act as subject matter expert in systems engineering capacity within cross functional teams
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues to ensure mitigation prior to repeat issue
  • Show ability to progress from Platform Engineering to Cloud Engineering over time
  • Required Experience:
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology or relevant field; equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • 10+ years of related technical work experience physical and virtual server infrastructure systems
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies highly preferred
  • Relevant technical certificates a plus
  • Successful candidate will have scripting skills for automation and aptitude for learning new tools
  • Vast working and troubleshooting experience in the following areas: Linux, Solaris, patching solutions, scripting, various tools, and automation, with a focus on Linux
  • Scripting skills for automation and ability to learn new tools and make run books where needed, enabling both on premise and cloud environments
  • Experience in evaluating, revising and documenting IT processes and procedures that will be used to train L1 personnel.
  • Ability to assume and complete assignments independently – driving to completion
  • Ability to explain and champion technical concepts to a broad audience
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including: executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Required Technical Experience:
  • Vast experience with configuration and deployment of infrastructure and applications
  • Experience in driving as a technical lead
  • Extensive AWS experience in both implementation and design
  • Experience using tools such as Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Puppet, Monitoring tool
  • Experience using and driving Agile Epic/Stories to drive successful initiatives
