Cloud Administrator

                As a cloud administrator, you will work in a mixed OS virtual environment managing cloud infrastructure services, within public and private cloud environments.  The primary role of the cloud administrator is to ensure operational functionality in the public cloud environment.  The continuous change and fast paced environment of the public cloud requires this person to be eager to learn, innovative, ensure best practices are implemented, and results-driven.


  • Experience with various virtualization technologies and multi-tenant, private and hybrid cloud environments
  • Strong experience and knowledge in working with AWS instances and services
  • 3-5 years Cloud Administration (AWS/Azure)
  • Minimum 5 years Linux/Windows server administration
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a public cloud environment
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, and the need for quick delivery
  • Understanding of system administrative tasks, and how they apply and operate within a cloud environment
  • Experience in various scripting languages, as well as building automation into process and understanding automation tools
  • Ability to lead and contribute to the development, maintenance, and usage of deployment and task automation
  • Ability to work with third-party SaaS providers and third part development partners on integration
  • Ability to work directly with architects and developers to debug problems and solutions
  • Ability to implement cloud infrastructure designs provided by architects
  • Understanding of PaaS solutions, such as Pivotal’ s Cloud Foundry, running on public cloud is a nice to have, as well as cloud-native microservices


Cloud Administrator Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Day to day level 3 administration of public cloud environment
  • Collaborating with Enterprise Architecture team to continue driving strategies and roadmap items for AWS environment
  • Ensuring cloud implementations are operationalized and sustainable when implementing additional technologies
  • Working with internal digital and application teams to assist with understanding values and constraints with migrating and building workloads in the public cloud
  • Collaborate with Security and Operation teams to ensure cloud environment and data is secure against theft, loss, or other disasters
  • Review and assist management and other departments with costs related to public cloud consumption, to help analyze savings where possible, utilizing AWS or third-party tools
  • Create and maintain documentation related to the public cloud environment, to pass knowledge of day-to-day support and monitoring to Global Command Center
  • Leading and actively involvement in product design, development, troubleshooting, and documentation within the cloud environment
  • Ensure the infrastructure is continuously up, operational, and stays stable
  • Work with others on the team to help overcome and solve difficult problems
  • Present to management areas of opportunity and improvement to the environment to ensure optimal benefits of cloud environment
  • Creates and maintains administrator and service accounts for AWS
  • Other duties as assigned
